Social Media Graphic: Original Design

In this practice example we learned how to make a custom shapes and boxes. We also learned how not fill the boxes but change the boarder. This makes you brain focus on the conversation. Practicing with customer shapes helped me with my promotional picture I had to make.

For this photo the first thing I did was take out the poster in the back of the picture. It made the focus of the picture so much better. It was hard to figure out how to take the poster out of the picture. It has been since Freshman year since I played with Photoshop. I've used Krita some for the theatre department but its not the same as photoshop. After I figured out how to fix the wall I played with the custom shapes. I used three different shapes to make the design I wanted. After that I had to choose a text that would convey the message I wanted. For this project I wanted to make like movie poster maybe for a short film. I think it definitely has a horror feel and you really understand how the person feels and not the bird.

Influence Photography

Elizabeth Finney Photography Project

In this project you got to choose photographers and try to copy their style. I did one artist in my style then the rest are very different from my style.  The most fun and hard was Bertin. He is a photographer that does abstract photography. But I actually had a lot of fun it was using everyday objects like taking pictures of balloons and my sweatpants.

farmers market

Today we learned how to blur and Image in photoshop. After that we created a circle and filled the circle to make it white. Then we changed the opacity of that circle this way you could see the apples but still let our text stand out. Lastly we added text and changed the color and font.

Composition Techniques

For this photo I decided to focus on leading lines. I decided to get the camera near the ground but not on the ground so you can see the path to the chapel. When editing this photo on snapseed I decided to play around a little bit with rotating the image some. This way the image was a little bit more centered.

In this Photo I really wanted to focus on symmetry. This was a hard one for me to do because I am so used to taking nature photos. When editing I decided to play with some of the filters. I really liked how the lines in the rock were popping out and made you really focus on the symmetry and grab your attention to the middle of the picture.

I would say this would fall under experimentation. It was off the "Girl with a Dog" painting by Michael Doig. I thought It might look cool to take a close up of the painting. The way it turned out makes me think of a screen savor on a phone.

This one I choose Background. I didn't edit this photo I thought it did a good job conveying it's message. Stain glass has so much beauty and you can tell Professor Doig appreciates the art of the architect who made it.

For this one I choose viewpoint. I was going to do it as cropping but then I started looking at different angles. I was like you know from this angle it looks like the bird is going to eat the wooden human for touching his reese's cups. So when I went to edit I put on a filter to make it have a horror affect. This way you feel sympathize for the human. I tried using the healing tool in the back because I hated the posters in the back. To me there very distracting but when I used the tool it only got worse. So it's definitely one to fix in photoshop.

Elizabeth Finney Canva

If someone mentioned my name I would hope they think of someone who is really into art. Also is ok with being a huge nerd. At the same time I would want them to think about someone isn't afraid of getting my hands dirty and doing hard work. That goes for anything whether it be art, landscaping, school.

Self Description as a Shoe

For my photo I choose to set up my hiking boots in a walking position. This is because I love to walk out doors and I love hard work. These shoes are not just my hiking shoes but my shoes I worked in on my landscaping job this summer. Lastly after work I would go to baseball practice in these shoes and play in them. I would be prepared to run and jump in the river to retrieve balls. These shoes show hard work and dedication. I thought putting them on the path and not off the path shows I know what I want and life and I am ready to put in the hard work to achieve my goals.

Pittsburg Pirates Three Interesting Facts

 1. I thought Emma's emphasis on building a strong portfolio was is very good point. That is not something I am used to doing in my classes since I am a business major. It's something I have to work on wanting to go into the design field and even in owning a small business on the side.

2. Also by Emma I thought it was important showing her passion for art. She is always trying to stay with the trends and software. The most important part is her pushing herself. A lot of artist get into a comfortable spot but then won't try to push themselves.

3. Lastly I forgot how much art go into a game. They are objects you see everyday and you just don't think about it. They do T-shirts, Logos, apparel and they even do the packaging. Art and advertising is every where you look and Jemma just puts it into perspective.
