Forest Fest

In this project we did what the forest fest competition was supposed to be. In this we did five nature, animals, places, people and black and white. Taking these with no boundaries I tried to get a bunch of different angels. Especially for the black and white. I did some landscape but I really wanted to try some abstract work. I took a lot of pictures of my miniature jenga set. I wanted to get a photo of one of the games we played but it fell right before I got to take it. The nature pictures I had fun with because it was right up my alley. The hardest one for me was taking photos of people. I ended up using my uncles sports room. He has a small locker spot and has a bunch of memorabilia. So I decided to get the entrance of the room. Then I got pictures inside and got some different parts of the room.

In this project we made a website out of some of the projects we did. In the project I kept similar description from what I wrote in the blogs. I wanted to keep it this way because it's been a long time to remember exactly what I did. I enjoyed looking back at what I had done this semester and how I used apps to enhance my images.  

Shapes

For this project we had to find shapes in our normal day to day lives. I did everything from buttons on the vending machine. I also used some of the paintings I pass everyday. I found circles, ovals and squares in the paintings. I also took pictures of the bricks from different perspectives. 

 

Color Project

 In this project we took a photo we had already taken and transformed it into three colors. We then got to change some colors of the picture. I choose to add the colors red and blue. Personally I loved how the tractor turned out but I couldn't find a color I liked for the sky. This is the only one I kind of thought would fit.

In this project we are creating a pamphlet for my minor. I choose to focus on my photography class. I tried to pick some of my favorite projects I did. I picked some of my low key photos and my subtract project. Lastly I picked the photographers that we tried to imitate. 

Tik Tok

 In this assignment we had to make a Tik Tok with pictures. We choose to do a dance. It starts off with me in the corner alone when two people come up to me. I go with them and we all start dancing together. Once we figured out how to keep the camera set the rest was easy. For the camera we ended up using a study room we used one of the windows as a stand. 

Reflection

 I think CSS and HTML very important even though I feel like it is very hard to learn. It makes you think a lot about how much work and thought goes into photos you use, the font type ect. In the magazine we looked at I not only see the rhythm of the text but also the photography tool I have learned in my photography class. 

Service Project

Sway Project

In this project we had to take photos as a community service project. I picked promoting the new Product Design major at Davis and Elkins. I first looked at the what Stauber wrote for the major and what classes you have to take. I took photos of the art department of what people were doing in those classes you have to take. I also took a lot of pictures of the maker space. This way they knew what space they will use a lot. Also so Stauber if he wanted to just promote the maker space to non-majors he could.

Dreamweaver Website

 

In this assignment we learned how to use dream weaver. We learned how to add images and logos. Later we learned how to move text and change font. Then we learned how to get to the css page quicker by control clicking then going to quick edits. Lastly we learned some coding and quick ways to write code. For example if you wright head then tab your code will look like <head> </head>

This type of coding is called HTML and CSS. HTML means is the raw blueprint like the design of the house.The CSS means you can change colors just like painting a house.

Subtract

 

For this project it was all about subtracting. For example the wood building. At first you can see it from a far you can see the dance hall to the right and the trees in front of it. For the second picture you feel like you're in between the trees and you can see less of the dance hall. In the next picture you're right there next to the building. You can see your standing on the road. In the last picture you're right there at the door going up the stairs.

Taking Pictures For class.
Yes
So for a quick description of all the people that said yes. My friend and I were cooking down stairs and I seen people that looked like they were a really close friend group and I thought they would be the perfect people to photograph.  So when one of them said yes a lot of them wanted to join in. Under the pictures I will give you a description of each one.

We talked about twirling and how she was really into band.

Didn't talk much but really wanted the back of her shirt in the picture.

Really wanted a picture of her dancing.

He was not happy but did it because the other girls told him he should.

Talked about he was socially awkward but I was like that's ok I am too.

No's
A lot of the no's I got were basically just like no I'm ok. Their was some no's from the group above but it was mostly oh I have to go back to my dorm anyhow. Or no that's ok. I would say a description of the people that said no the description I would say is the dress like normal college people. Jeans and a sweatshirt or a t-shirt and sweatpants.

Golden Spiral

With this assignment we worked on using the golden ratio. This was a hard assignment for me because I am not used to using the golden ratio. It took me several times to try and get it right. Not that but fully understand it as well. The best picture I got was my coaches dog Whiskey. Honestly it's something I took last week just taking pictures of the dog while I was babysitting him. I just happen to look through my pictures and thought it was one I should definitely add.

 In this assignment we used Adobe XD. We learned how to add multiple images at once. Then we went into how to make the app interactive. Lastly in step three we played with what we wanted to transition to look like. I choose when I clicked the chair I wanted I had the image go down and have it bounce. It did not look good but was fun to play with. Lastly we learned how to copy and changed colors. We also learned how to take a large image and make it have scrolling capabilities. This way the viewer can see it on their phone.

High Key and Low Key Images

The high key images were hard to take. Almost every picture it felt like I had too much light. It was definitely way different than my normal photography. I love showing shadows and contrast but these photos were just straight bright. The one photo I did like how it turned out was my mariachi men. 

 For the low key photos I had a lot more success. I really enjoyed playing with the light and shadows. The tennis tape man and the sun set was my favorite. The shadows and the contrast between light and dark were my favorite to play with. It makes the mood so much more effective. 

Lightroom

In this project we used Lightroom. For it we had to do three tutorials. I choose three random tutorial that I thought would be interesting. In this I learned you could play with different saturations of certain colors. This will help me a lot because I like adding saturations but its hard when its not focused.  Also you can focus certain areas to just change that one area.

 

Flyers and Business Cards

In this we learned how to change type of characters we used. Also how to add images into your flyer or business card. We also learned how to make three different types of boxes and what they all do.  Lastly we learned how to make a resume in indesign. 

In this part we got to go off and make your own business card. I decided to make one for my furniture business I have. On the front of the card I did what we did in class changing text and adding pictures. They only thing I did differently is i learned how to make my own QR code which was very helpful. Also I used photoshop so I would have just the inn table and not the entire picture.
